Dynamic artist Savannah Jaine released a brand-new country-rock-fueled single titled, “I Win Again”. Written by her husband Lee Meadows & herself, the empowering anthem chronicles Savannah’s rise above the haters from her days performing on cruise ships.
Recently, I spoke with dynamic artist Savannah Jaine about her latest single, “I Win Again”, exchanging live music performances for lodging as she toured across Europe & more.
Kyla Pearson: For those who are unfamiliar with you and your music, can you tell us a bit about why you wanted to become an artist? What would you say is the message you want to share through your music?
Savannah Jaine: I just love to write and share songs that people can relate to – sharing personal stories through my writing makes me feel vulnerable but can open people’s hearts and make them feel less alone.
Kyla Pearson: You've previously stated that you’ve traded live music performances for lodging as you toured across Europe. Can you tell us more about this experience? How has it impacted your growth as an artist?
Savannah Jaine: Yes! It was fab. Between contracts leading bands I traded music for lodging in several countries in Europe and I met so many amazing people that way – the friendships I make on the road are everything to me as an artist. It’s also just performing every night, there’s no way to get better at that than just doing.
Kyla Pearson: During this experience, you met your now-husband, Lee Meadows. You both run a “Live Songwriter Rounds” series on Tik Tok. Can you tell us more about that?
Savannah Jaine: Yes, Lee and I met on a contract working in a band in the Middle East – we moved to his hometown in England and did live songwriter rounds on Tiktok during quarantine. It was a great way to continue sharing and networking, using our platform to promote other artists and creating together during such a hard time!

Kyla Pearson: You recently released your brand-new single, “I Win Again”. With a country-rock sound, the song speaks to your experience working as an artist on cruise ships. Can you tell us a bit more about that experience? What did you learn from it?
Savannah Jaine: I worked on ships for around 7 years. It’s 5 one hour sets a day, 6 days a week, it’s hard work. It’s an endurance gig. It helped me pay back my college loans and I visited over 40 countries. I learned more about being a musician than I could’ve ever learned in any college or school program – I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.
You end up performing for thousands of people every week and 99.9% of them are incredible people, some of who I still keep in touch with. This song specifically is about dealing with the small percentage of not-so-nice drunk guys who just loved to shout things at a woman on stage. Frustrating, but since I’ve lived through that there’s really nothing that could shake me nowadays.
Kyla Pearson: Can you tell us a bit more about the songwriting and recording process behind the song?
Savannah Jaine: Sure, my husband wrote the riff at the beginning and sent it to me via voice memo – I loved it and put my first thoughts down, which turned into the chorus. We tag teamed this one. We live-tracked it in the studio at Milkshed in Lancashire with Chris Hope as our producer — He’s the absolute best in the biz and his attention to detail makes everything come together sonically in this cool, hi-fi Americana style that we love.
Kyla Pearson: According to you, what is the ideal setting to listen to “I Win Again” in order to fully experience it?
Savannah Jaine: Oh, wherever you are, meet yourself there. But definitely have a whiskey or a drink of your choice!
Kyla Pearson: Do you have any upcoming shows where fans can hear you play “I Win Again” live?
Savannah Jaine: My husband and I are having to spend a year apart due to visa reasons so I’m back in NYC and he’s in England — We have a show at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC on April 13th but otherwise, we are doing shows solo, I think there’s a schedule on our websites!!!
Kyla Pearson: Lastly, is there anything else you'd like fans to know about?
Savannah Jaine: With everything Lee and I are going through right now — all the streams on our songs make a huge difference, we’ve curated a few awesome playlists on our Spotify with indie artists we love and if you stream those it helps all of us!
