NEEDTOBREATHE Release New Single & Music Video, “I Wanna Remember (feat. Carrie Underwood)” in Anticipation of Upcoming Album & U.S. Tour

Last May, GRAMMY® Award-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE released their new single “I Wanna Remember” featuring seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner Carrie Underwood. “I Wanna Remember” is also the latest track off NEEDTOBREATHE’s upcoming 12-track album, Into The Mystery, which will be available everywhere July 30th. Fans interested in pre-saving and pre-ordering the album can now do so. In promotion of their upcoming album, the band is also offering limited edition merch which fans can purchase via their online store.

As the band shares in a release,“‘I Wanna Remember’ is a nostalgic track and takes you back to the moments you never want to forget. We all came from small towns, and those roots have cemented into the fabric of the band and our music.” As they continue, “Bear worked with Carrie on some of her recent projects, and we felt like her small-town roots and humble beginnings were the perfect addition to this song. As soon as we got into the studio, we felt a connection with her as if she was a long-time member of the band. Having someone with her talent and spirit sing on the song is an absolute honour for us.” Underwood was equally elated by her collaboration with the band, stating in a release, “I have been a huge fan of NEEDTOBREATHE forever and I was so honored when the stars aligned and Bear agreed to lend his incredible vocals to a song on my recent gospel album”.  Adding, “Needless to say, I was thrilled when he and the band invited me to be a part of their new project. I love the song and have had the best time getting to know and sing with these amazingly talented guys.”

Underwood also appears alongside NEEDTOBREATHE in the track’s official music video, which premiered on CMT, MTV, and ViacomCBS’ Times Square Billboard on May 20th of this year. Since then, the video has amassed more than 579K views on YouTube.

The video features a vocally strong and moving live performance from NEEDTOBREATHE and Underwood, which is juxtaposed with the scenes of a young couple in love. The couple is staying up till the sun rises, enjoying their time together out in the city. Towards the end of the music video, we see the lovers hold hands before parting ways, symbolizing that it may have been the last time they saw one another. This plays into the lyrics of the song, when Rinehart sings, “This feels like one of those moments moving by so fast”, which is a feeling that often characterizes young, fleeting love. The true visual standout in the music video, however, are the scenes with the coloured lighting that silhouette Underwood and Bear Rinehart (Lead singer of NEEDTOBREATHE) cleverly painting a visual representation of what a memory flashing through your mind looks like. Overall, the video invites the viewer to recall their own first love stories and to remember the memories shared with those we hold close.

In addition, I Wanna Remember does a perfect job of setting the stage for other feature collaborations fans can expect on the album, which includes artists Natalie Hemby on Don’t Throw All the Good Things Away and Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) on Carry Me.

The complete album itself was the result of a 3-week summer trip the band took to a recording studio in Columbia, TN, alongside the album’s co-producer and engineer Konrad Snyder and some featured guests. The band documented their stay, using the footage for their upcoming documentary entitled, Into The Mystery, which they teased on their Instagram last month. The film will provide fans with an inside glimpse of the album’s recording process and is set to be released this summer.

In the fall, NEEDTOBREATHE will commence their Into The Mystery Tour with Switchfoot and The New Respects. Visiting 38 cities, fans across the United States will be able to experience their upcoming album live starting on September 7 in St. Louis, MO, and closing on October 30 in Atlanta, GA.

Advanced tickets for all dates and tour stops are available for fans to purchase now.
